things last

LEFTOVERS  have washed up on the first floor of an old carpenter’s house in Copenhagen’s Latin Quarter, transforming it into a landscape of unusual acquaintances. The functional, everyday devices are reassembled as abstract shapes and structures in a sea of grain, giving them new, ambiguous meanings.

Discarded doors, chairs, lamps, and fittings from around the city have been broken down and reassembled as five elements that form a flotsam-like agglomeration within the carpenter’s house.

The project was made in collaboration with Loretta’s Lovers

“I would build a little white fortress with very thick walls … and between these walls I would create the chaos, like [that included] in my soul, … all thought out and protected. And in this chaos I would live … enjoying the chaos …’’
